| The weekly rate for days of sick absence commencing on or after, 6 April 2009 is £79.15. |

| The amount of SMP paid to an employee for payment weeks starting on or after Sunday 5 April 2009 is: |
| first six weeks of payment - the earnings-related rate, which is 90 per cent of the employee's Average Weekly Earningsremaining weeks - the lesser of the standard rate which is £123.06 a week or the earnings-related rate, which is 90 per cent of the employee's Average Weekly Earnings |

| Statutory Adoption Pay and Statutory Parternity Pay |

| For payment weeks starting on or after, 5 April 2009 the weekly rate of SPP and SAP is the lesser of £123.06 or 90 per cent of the employee's average weekly earnings. |

| Personal Allowance effective 6 April 2009 |

| The standard personal allowance increases from £6,035 to £6,475. The new standard tax code will be 647L. The tax bands remain the same at 20% and 40%. However the 40% tax threshold increases from £34,800 to £37,400. |
